A copy of this video was donated to the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan by the Producer in fulfillment of with an agreement for use of archival materials in the production of the video.
Scope and content
Item is a commercially-produced copy of The Bison and back, a documentary produced by the Manitoba Bison Association and Solnes Productions. It documents the history of the North American buffalo (bison), its interactions with Indigenous peoples and prairie settlements, and its re-population after nearly facing extinction in the late 1800s. The Manitoba Bison Association received production assistance from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Manitoba Rural Adaption Council Inc., in addition to other agencies. Photographs from the Saskatchewan Archives Board's permanent collection were used in the production of the video.
Record is in good physical condition.
