Institutionele geschiedenis

The Moose Jaw Fire Brigade was somewhat formed in 1883, but the first Fire Hall was opened in 1888. The purchase of a Chemical fire engine, also made at this time, marked the beginning of the Volunteer Brigade. The first Fire Department came to be as Fire Chief J. McFadden and two paid men were hired in 1906.
Past Fire Chiefs include J. McFadden, C Lawless, G. Baines, R Webb, W. Cook, G. Higson, A. Higson, N. E. Harris, E. R. Besey, Walter Stack, Maurice Lowe, Mike Barton and Barry Dewald.

Geschiedenis beheer

A portion of the fonds was discovered filed in the library's vertical files. These portions where placed in the fonds upon their apparent relativity to the original contents of the fonds.

Bereik en inhoud

This fonds consists of a Minute Book of the Moose Jaw Fire Department, two booklets of the Department's "Rules and Regulations." Also included is a book of inventory and accounts as well as correspondence from the Moose Jaw Trades and Labor Council to City Council requesting the expansion of the City's fire limits and regulations. A Souvenir booklet of the Moose Jaw Fire Department as well as documents that illustrate a portion of the department's history, is also present.
