Biografie

Luther Roberts was born in 1890 to parents George and Elizabeth Roberts of Claverdon, Warwickshire, England. He emigrated to the Lloydminster area in 1904. In 1909, Luther was hired as the organist for St. Andrew’s Church in Moose Jaw. He was listed as living at 33 High Street East in 1919.

Luther had 14 siblings, including Harold Roberts, who joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force on November 12, 1915. He received a military medal for acting as a runner during the battle of Vimy Ridge. He was killed in action in Belgium on October 26, 1917.

In 1920, Luther moved to Vancouver. He then moved to Prince Albert where he worked as organist and choirmaster at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church for 12 years.

The 1965 Henderson’s directory for Saskatoon listed Luther as living at 1031 - 12 Street East.

It is not known when he died.
