Battleford Sea Cadets Undergo Inspection

File contains photographs of members of the Battleford Sea Cadets being inspected. Pictured is Lt. Cmdr. E. Boychuk, commanding officer at HMCS Unicorn in Saskatoon, inspecting members of the Battleford Sea Cadets Corps. File also includes an image of Tom Boyd, chairman of the North Battleford branch of the Navy League of Canada, presenting the most improved cadet award to AC Robert Risdale.

Battleford's Agricultural Society 4-H Beef and Fat Stock Show

Photograph of a group of people looking at a 1000 lbs. calf belonging to Sharon Winch, as she leads it around the ring at the Battleford's Agricultural Society 4-H beef and fat stock show. Ms. Winch is a member of the Unity 4-H club and after she showed the calf, she sold it to the North Battleford Livestock Pool.

Battlefords Agricultural Society and Annual Exhibition

File contains a photograph of North Battleford mayor Roy Dean officially opening the Battlefords Agricultural Society and Annual Exhibition. Included are images of two floats in the North Battleford Exhibition parade. One float entered by the Sunnyside Food Centre was made from thousands of cookies and candies, the other float, entered by Indigenous organizations in the community, depicts the progress made by Indigenous people in the past 80 years.

File contains photographs of various people and events at the Battlefords Exhibition. Included is an image of Albert Horner, Member of Parliament for the Battlefords officially opening the exhibition. File also contains an image of Oswald Beaudry wearing a pioneer's hunting outfit holding a rifle, an image of young Theresa Martin eating cotton candy, an image of the float entered by Notre Dame Hospital in the parade which won second prize, as well as an image of a horse Zorro Mohawk, owned and driven by P. Lachappelle of Stoughton SK, who won the $250.00 Kinsmen Stake harness race.

Battlefords Horticultural Society Show

File contains photographs of the front and back yard of the B. Gates house, as well as a gladioli exhibit. The Gates residence won first prize in the garden competition at the Battlefords Horticultural Society show, and the flower exhibit was also part of the show.

The Saskatchewan Bulletin, Sept., 1965, p. 6; "A 24-year-old Saskatoon public school teacher, Mariusia Bayda, was chosen Miss Saskatchewan Wheat Queen for 1965 by the Associated Canadian Travellers this summer. Miss Bayda, who will be on staff at Kinley this term, was sponsored in the contest by the P. Mohyla Institute. She was married on August 28 to Gene Gryba, an education student at the University of Saskatchewan." Image consists of a head and shoulders photo of Maryusa Bayda.
