Bio/Historical Note: Alfred Lewis (Lew) Parres was born 19 February 1915. He was a juvenile and junior hockey star with the Nutana Athletic Club in Saskatoon. He also excelled at track and field, winning many awards. In 1932 his brother Jim entered Geological Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan with Lew following in 1934. Lew played hockey for the Huskies and after graduation could have had a career in hockey but chose the mining business instead. Parres was a staunch Northerner. He knew the North and loved the North. His vision in proposing a new Northern Province (which he called Precambria) was to keep the wealth (especially the tremendous mineral wealth) of the North in the North working to improve the lives of Northerners. His dream was to combine Northern Manitoba and Northern Saskatchewan and a small piece of Northern Alberta into one entity. His plan was backed by the local Chamber of Commerce in the early 1950s and made headlines across western Canada.

Bio/Historical Note: The Emmanuel College Residence, completed in 1963, was designed by Webster, Forrester and Scott to accommodate 85 students, the college president and a caretaker. Located just north of the original Emmanuel College building, plans called for the two buildings to be linked, this, however, was never completed. Renamed in 1975, McLean Hall was named in honour of Rt. Rev. John McLean, the first Anglican bishop of Saskatchewan and founder of Emmanuel College. It was leased initially by the Federation of Saskatchewan Indians and then purchased by the University of Saskatchewan in 1983. The building has been home to the departments of Mathematics and Statistics and Native Studies, the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP) and the University Employees’ Union.

This fonds contains correspondence, memoranda, working papers, publications and reports pertaining to women and their status.

The fonds consists of 3 church registers of marriages, baptisms, and burials, created by Rev. Thompson, during his time as a minister in Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Contents include records of marriages (1948-1991), baptisms (1948-1955), and burials (1948-1968), from various locations, including: Oshawa and Thunder Bay, Ontario; Neepawa, Manitoba; Kennedy, Langbank, Windhurst, Wetwood, Landsdowne, Kisby, Wawota, Melfort, Kinistino, Cranmer, Lumsden, Balgonie, Saskatoon, Melville, and Regina, Saskatchewan. There is also a scrapbook (1949-1961) also relating to Rev. Thompson.

The fonds consists of records created by Rev. H.A. McManus, during his time as an ordained minister in Saskatchewan. Contents are primarily a minister's register, with records of sermons, communions, confirmations, marriages, baptisms and burials from Caron, Aberdeen, Bridge Creek, Crayburn, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Loon River, Makwa, Meadow Lake, Pegasus, Regina (Knox), and Zealandia.

The fonds consists of records created by Rev. John Gregorash, during his time as an ordained minister in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. Contents are primarily a minister's register, with records of baptisms and marriages performed at: Dauphin, Keld, Gonor, Sifton, Lanuke, and Winnipeg (Manitoba); Musidora, Two Hills, Myrnam, Innisfree, Naughton Glen, Irma, Andrew, Wattsford, Calgary (Alberta); as well as Canora, Moose Jaw, Young, Wakaw, Prince Albert, Kamsack, Glen Elder, Gorlitz, Norquay, Preeceville, Rhein, Hawarden, Hyas, Kelvington, Fort San, Smiley, Biggar (Saskatchewan) and various other locations.

The fonds consists of records generated by several associated churches and their varying governing pastoral charges: Carnduff Pastoral Charge, Carievale Pastoral Charge, Carnduff-Carievale Pastoral Charge, Arthur Pastoral Charge (previously Mission Field), Gainsborough Pastoral Charge, Gainsborough-Carievale Pastoral Charge, Carnduff-Alida Pastoral Charge, Glen Ewen Pastoral Charge, Oxbow Pastoral Charge, Oxbow – Glen Ewen Pastoral Charge, as well as predecessors and constituent churches – their boards, committees and related bodies, and local women’s units.

Contents include: minutes of church boards, councils, managers, stewards, session, trustees, and congregational meetings; records from local Ladies Aid Societies, Women’s Associations (W.A.), Women’s Federation (W.F.), and United Church Women (U.C.W.) groups; Sunday School and youth group records; historic rolls, communion rolls, and related membership records; some financial records, correspondence and annual reports; a Home Mission Record Book from Glen Ewen; church registers from Carnduff, Alida, Wheatland, Oxbow, Glen Ewen, Boscurvis, Gainsborough, Winlaw, Ashgrove, Carievale, Bethel, Bienfat, Elmore, and nearby area(s). There are also 2 scrapbooks and 52 photographs relating to churches and congregations at Oxbow and Boscurvis.

The fonds consists of textual materials generated by Carlyle Pastoral Charge and its constituent congregations – the church boards, committees and related bodies, local women’s units and other groups.

Contents include: minutes of official boards, managers, session, and congregational meetings; some correspondence, financial records, annual reports and newsletters; communion rolls and related membership records; an early Circuit Register; and a register of baptisms, marriages, and burials held at Carlyle, Moose Creek, Sutherland, and related locations.
