This collection consists of one series containing a scrapbook kept by Garth Smith but no certain date is established, except that the newspaper clippings kept may have been from around the time of the Province's Golden Jubilee in 1955.

This collection includes Howdy McPhail’s aerial photographs, predominantly of individual farms and views of towns and cities. Some images are of specific landmarks, scenic views, or fauna. All images are identified and a majority are dated. A second accrual contains examples of printed calendars and postcards that were sold by McPhail, as well as some correspondence and other business documentation. Images used in an exhibition curated by Helen Marzolf were added in 2018. Further accruals of correspondence, order forms, negatives and prints were interfiled in Series B.

Hodgson Brothers' Funeral Card Collection

This collection consists of 52 funeral cards from the estate of the Hodgson brothers, David and Gordon. The cards from the funerals of family and friends of the brothers, may contain birth and death dates, a listing of hymns performed at the funeral, names of pallbearers, surviving family members, and some biographical information about the deceased. The collection contains two scanned copies of black and white photographs owned by Ines Claggett, as well as five original black and white photographs. All photographs were originally taken between [ca. 1930] and [195-]. The photographs depict group portraits of the "Southside Circle" women's group of the Melfort United Church, young students and teachers and the Salvation Army Building, a curling team, and the former Melfort golf club house - which was originally run by Mr. and Mrs. Dick Harms.

Historically important images in the fonds include a photograph of thirty-six Melfort pioneers and a photograph of Mr. Babington (Melfort Moon Owner), Mr. and Mrs. Clemens (Melfort Post Office and Rothwell S.D #318 )Mr. Mouncy (Livery Stables), and Mr. Clark (first school teacher at Rothwell S.D #318 ). This collection reflects the historical research conducted by Ken Bradley in preparation for his book entitled Out of bounds: a century of golf in Moose Jaw. The research includes print outs and photocopies of newspaper articles, primarily from the Moose Jaw Time Herald, about golf in Moose Jaw from 1900-2008. It also includes summaries written by Bradley of golf happenings in the area.
