  • 1948-1992

Fonds consists of professional papers of investigative journalist, Walter Stewart. The bulk of the material was generated by Stewart during the research, writing, and publication of his numerous books, articles, and newspaper columns, 1948-1993. Also of note is a series of early 'Maclean's' magazine files (1953-1960) which were rescued by Stewart during one of his stints with the magazine. Much original and copied material from 'Maclean's' staff members other than Stewart is present in these files, and Stewart's own Maclean's files from a later period (1967-1982) are also contained in the fonds. Business correspondence (1967-1984), Stewart's correspondence as editor of 'Policy Options' magazine (1988-1992), and a small quantity of his personal correspondence (1982-1993) are also included.
