Bio/historical note: R.K. Baker maintained a flock of ducks and geese around the University of Saskatchewan for many years. These ducks are Pekin's and are considered to be a particularly good type.

Bio/historical note: The Saskatchewan Department of Agriculture gave every encouragement to poultry producers to improve the quality of their market. "Poultry Public", fattening stations were established and numerous killing and fattening demonstrations were given.

Experimental greenhouses, building behind it, surrounded by a fence. Winter scene.
Bio/historical note: Two sections of the experimental greenhouse were heated with waste heat piped from the exhaust stack of a natural gas compressor station. The greenhouse consisted of a wooden base and metal frame with fiberglass ends and a cover. The heat recovery system was developed at the University of Saskatchewan.

Bio/Historical Note: Maxwell Abraham graduated from high school in Cabri and enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in 1969. He joined the Huskies football team that same year after playing for the Saskatoon Hilltops and winning a Canadian Junior Championship in 1968. During his three-year career with the Huskies from 1969 to 1971, Abraham was selected to both the Western all-star and All-Canadian team, each season at a different defensive position. Abraham was also a member of the Huskies wrestling team for one year. He was an assistant coach with the Huskies football team in 1972. He graduated with a BEd in 1973.
