Name of creator
James Alfred Sharrard was born in Uxbridge, Ontario in 1879. He received his teacher training at Port Perry, Ontario, and obtained a MA from the University of Toronto. Sharrard was appointed Professor of Philosophy at the University of Saskatchewan in 1917, retired in 1947 as head of the department, and was named Professor Emeritus. He died in Saskatoon in November 1963.
Scope and content
This fonds primarily contains correspondence between J.A. Sharrard and his wife Edith, pertaining to missionary work India, individuals and activities at the University of Saskatchewan and in Saskatoon, the 1918 'Flu epidemic, religious matters, and family life. It also contains notes for sermons or speeches, postcards and photographs.
