The purpose of the City Archives is to identify, collect and preserve the historically valuable records of the corporation of the City of Regina, its elected civic officials and other relevant historical material and to make such records available to both City officials and the public. The Archives acquires both public and private records by scheduled transfer, gift, or any other transaction by which ownership of the material passes to the City of Regina to be held in trust for future generations.
