Biographical history

Fred Hauck was born on July 21, 1969 in Redcliff, Alberta. He was educated in Redcliff. Interested in collecting antiques, historical documents, photographs and artifacts, Hauck has served as president of the Redcliff Museum and was a director of the Grain Academy Museum in Calgary. He has contributed to several publications, including "Discovering Antiques". Hauck currently (2012) resides in Redcliff.

Custodial history

Fred Hauck donated these records to the Regina office, Saskatchewan Archives in one accession in 2010: 2010-015 (January 25, 2010). Hauck purchased the records from an auction sale in Saskatchewan.

Scope and content

This collection consists of records accumulated by Fred Hauck of Redcliff, Alberta consisting mainly of black and white photographs of mostly unidentified infants, children, couples, families and young men and women.

Records relating to the H.W. McPherson family of Admiral, Saskatchewan include a booklet containing the marriage certificate for H.W. McPherson and Margaret Isabelle McMillan (1919); H.W. McPherson's Canadian Bank of Commerce identification card for travellers' cheques (1930); and Admiral Public School No. 3526 report cards for Norma McPherson (1929) and Walter McPherson (1931).

Records relating to the Carl Lange family of Admiral, Saskatchewan include a share crop lease (1945); a Swift Canadian Company Ltd. purchase ticket (1957); a blank Swift's Creamery shipping tag; a Hallmark date book (1960); and Christmas cards and other greeting cards sent to the Lange family (1950-1957).

Miscellaneous items include a two-page letter written in German (1946); two Bowman Brothers Ltd. canvas bags issued to Otto Stolz of Leader, Saskatchewan; a Saskatchewan Centennial Corporation matchbook cover (1967); a Saskatchewan Department of Natural Resources match box; and a Norwich Union Fire Insurance Society Ltd. blotter from the Macdonald Realty Company of Eyebrow, Saskatchewan.
