Swift Current Telecasting Co. Ltd. was incorporated in Saskatchewan on July 24, 1957. Founded by William (Bill) and Julie Forst, the company operated CJFB-TV television station in Swift Current as a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) affiliate. On May 31, 2002, the company closed CJFB-TV and sold their assets to CBC Toronto. On January 1, 2008, Swift Current Telecasting Co. Ltd. and 101113135 Saskatchewan Ltd. amalgamated into a new business corporation.

Scope and content

This series consists of video and film footage of specific events, including news and sports, that occured in the Swift Current, Saskatchewan region or which impacted that region. Events include Swift Current Broncos hockey games, curling championships and bonspiels, snowstorms, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) cutbacks, community fundraisers, Frontier Days, the Swift Current Broncos bus crash in 1986, and some coverage of the Colin Thatcher murder trial.
