Scope and content

An interview, conducted by Sheila Coles and broadcast on CBC Saskatchewan's "Morning Edition" program, of Trina Gillis, Chief Archivist of the Appraisal and Acquisition unit of the Saskatchewan Archives, pertaining to an audio disc in the Archives' holdings. The disc holds a voice recording of Bill West from 1944 as part of Pepsi-Cola's "Voice of Your Man in Service" program during the Second World War. West, originally from Langbank, Saskatchewan, was serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the time of the recording. Gillis discusses how the Saskatchewan Archives came to acquire the disc, and the efforts made by the Archives to preserve the recording and make it accessible to West's family and the public.
