Ted McCurdy worked in the research program at the Experimental Farm for 37 years. He served on town council, including two years as mayor. He also sat on the Hospital Board, the United Church Board, the Curling Club Executive and the Indian Head History Book Committee (see Indian head History Book pp 526-527).

Governor General of Canada, 1935-1940

Gas Eichel was born at Condie, SK, in 1911. After marrying Janet McDermaid of Indian Head in 1935, he farmed and became involved with the Boy Scouts, eventually becoming Provincial Commissioner and receiving the "Queen Scout Award" from Queen Elizabeth II. He boxed competitively for fourteen years and won the Provincial Title five times and the Canadian Title twice. He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 1967. He was also involved in archery and became Vice-President of the Canadian Archery Association. He was Zone 8 Commander of the Royal Canadian Legion and Vice-President of Farmer's Mutual Hail Insurance Co.
