Custodial history

On November 7, 2003, the object and records for A.2003.12 were transferred to the Swift Current Museum. No other information was captured at the time of transfer to the Swift Current Museum. On January 31, 2018, Glennis Clifton deposited the remaining records at the Museum. They had been in her husband Iver Clifton's possession.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of records relating to the 8th Recce Regiment Association, 8th Recce Regiment, 14th Canadian Hussars, and 14th Canadian Light Horse from 1942-2012 that were in Iver Clifton's possession. Also includes the object and records that form A.2003.12 from 1941. Fonds contains nine series: Military records, Regimental history, Reunions, 14th Canadian Hussars 50th Anniversary, Other regimental events, Correspondence, Audited DSRs 1964 No 1 to 5, Miscellaneous records, and Guest books.

Physical condition

Good. Two sections of The Sun newspaper were discarded due to their extremely poor condition.

Immediate source of acquisition

Glennis Clifton of Swift Current donated the majority of the records, which originally belonged to her husband, to the Swift Current Museum in January 2018.

Arrangement

No formal arrangement has been applied to the ca. 1 cm of textual records (8 pages of 1st orders issued) that are part of A.2003.12 in this fonds; however, a series has been added for them in case the records are found and can then be added to the box.
